Invisalign® is an advanced clear aligner system that can straighten your teeth.

Invisalign® is a type of clear aligner that has gained popularity during the pandemic. Unlike other braces and aligners, Invisalign® is easy to remove and clean and doesn’t require you to visit the dentist for any broken wires, unlike regular braces, they’ve become popular during the pandemic lockdown. Commonly, Invisalign® is popular with young adults and teens who want to fix their smile without feeling awkward with how they look since they are NEARLY INVISIBLE.

The Invisalign® Experience:

  1. Using our iTero machine, we’ll take a digital scan of your mouth, from which we’ll build your unique treatment plan.

  3. You’ll pick up your aligners and wear them every day for 22 hours, swapping them out every 1-2 weeks for a new set.
  4. We’ll periodically check your progress so we can be sure your teeth are moving as they should be, and everything is secure and comfortable for you.
  5. After 6-18 months your treatment will be finished, and we’ll fit you for your retainer.
  6. Enjoy your new smile!

What can Invisalign® fix?

invisalign before after

Crowded teeth

Crowded teeth are a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.

invisalign before after

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth are when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and can cause food to get stuck, making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.

invisalign before after

Open bite

An open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or bite even the most common foods, like apples.

invisalign before after

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth, and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

invisalign before after

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

invisalign before after

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth, and yet some of your upper teeth sit inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.

FAQs

1. How does Invisalign® work?

Invisalign® uses a patented clear aligner system to straighten out the teeth without the use of metal braces and brackets. Each aligner tray is designed and made especially for the individual patient and will be swapped out every 1-2 weeks, allowing the teeth to move into the desired position.

2. Is Invisalign® removable?

Yes, the aligner trays are removable and should be taken out to eat, drink, and brush your teeth.

3. Is Invisalign® invisible?

Invisalign® is as close to invisible as an orthodontic treatment can get. The aligners are made from Invisalign®’s patented SmartTrack material which is soft enough to be comfortable in the mouth while still exerting pressure, as well as being completely clear. Patients can rest assured that it will be almost impossible to tell when they’re wearing their aligners.

4. How long does the treatment take?

Treatment time varies from patient to patient according to the severity of each case. Most cases can be treated in 6-12 months, with some cases needing up to 18 months to achieve the desired results.

5. How often do I have to wear my aligners?

You must wear your Invisalign® every day for 20-22 hours, otherwise, your treatment will take longer than predicted and you may not be able to achieve the results you’re looking for.

6. Are Invisalign® painful?

It can take some time to get used to wearing your aligners, especially when you first switch them out, but it shouldn’t be painful. You may at first find talking while wearing them a little strange, but most patients get used to it very quickly.

7. Do I need to wear a retainer after?

Yes, after your treatment is finished, you will need to be fitted for and wear a retainer every night. This is to stop your teeth from moving back to their original positions and ensure you maintain your happier, straighter smile.
